Solar market expansion

Solar market expansion draws specialist Ingenero

4th March 2010

Solar specialist company Ingenero has responded to the opportunities in the NSW renewable energy market by opening a Sydney office. Ingenero has experienced rapid growth since establishing itself two and a half years ago. In that time it has been responsible for the uptake of two megawatts of solar power generation on the rooftops of Australian homes and almost another two megawatts from commercial, government and community projects. “The NSW and ACT market is currently growing, largely driven by the government’s establishment of a gross feed in tariff. Homeowners can now put a solar power system on their rooftops and sell all the generated energy back into the electricity grid for 60c per kilowatt hour,” said Steve Lane, General Manager Corporate Development at Ingenero.

“The arrangements give the solar industry a welcome boost by encouraging the uptake of solar by homeowners. Selling their entire energy production means the average homeowner can see their system pay for itself in about four years.” Backed by venture capital and led by a management team with extensive experience in energy and telecommunications utilities, Ingenero now has offices in three states. It is planning for continued rapid growth in the residential, commercial and utilities sectors of the solar power market.
