Partners

At Ingenero we have made a genuine commitment to our partnerships with many community and environmental organisations around Australia to make solar more accessible and affordable for their communities. Actively working with and within Australian communities, we are able to help many more Australians meet their energy needs and the improve environment by going solar. To do this we work closely with local communities and environment groups by providing discounts on our solar solutions to help these groups and their members go solar. Through our work with these groups we have been able to support and expand their efforts to continue campaigning for a cleaner, greener future for us all.

Community Partners

CitySmart

At Ingenero we align ourselves with partners who are focused on making solar power a reality for more Australians. That’s why we have partnered with CitySmart, an initiative of Brisbane City Council designed to make Brisbane a world leader in environmental management and sustainability. CitySmart is the commercial company created by Brisbane City Council to make Brisbane Australia's most sustainable city. CitySmart will achieve this by partnering with business, industry, government and the community to identify, develop, promote and support sustainability initiatives to reduce the city's environmental footprint, whilst maintaining the lifestyle that makes Brisbane one of the most liveable cities in the world.

Wide Bay Burnett Conservation Council

The Wide Bay Burnett Conservation Council Office is the peak environment body for this region of southeast Queensland. The group strongly believes in looking after the environment that sustains us and all other living things. It began in 1975 and is still going strong, raising awareness and advocating conservation throughout the region.

Its Time Foundation

Its Time Foundation replaces diesel-generated power in remote island schools with solar alternatives. The money saved on fuel is spent directly on education to create new opportunities for children in these low-income communities. For example, Rabi Island High School in Fiji now has constant renewable power and diverts over $7000 per year from fuel to books, software and other resources. To us that may sound small, but when the average family income is less than $100 per month it makes a huge difference. That system will also save over 150 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions.

Queensland Solar Schools

Ingenero is one of the providers selected by the Queensland Government to install solar power systems on the roofs of Queensland schools. Systems range in size from 2, 4 and 6kW and will eventually be installed in over 1300 schools across the state.

Barcoo Shire Council

Like many councils today, Queensland’s Barcoo Shire Council set itself environmental goals in order to become a more sustainable council. Not only did it identify solar energy as a key component of its environmental strategy, the council believed it had a kerole to play in informing the community about climate change. Solar power is an effective and highly visible way to get the message across, while reducing Council's own carbon footprint in the process. Through Power Purchase Agreements with Ingenero, Barcoo Shire Council has installed four world-class solar power systems on their facilities. Each has been designed, installed, maintained and is owned by Ingenero. The council simply buys the energy generated from the system. Furthermore, by taking advantage of the Queensland Government’s net feed-in tariff, the council sells any excess power into the grid. The new solar power installations feature 30kW at the Windorah Cultural Centre and 10kW at the Windorah Sports Centre. With the abundant supply of sunlight within the region, they will generate at least 178kW hours per day. At any point in time the council can understand the performance of their system by accessing, via the web, the performance data on Ingenero's EcoWatt Online Performance Monitoring.

Nature Conservation Council of NSW

The Nature Conservation Council of NSW launched the North Shore Solar Challenge in July 2010. This community based campaign aims to achieve the installation of solar panels on 1,000 North Shore homes. Homes in Sydney’s North Shore have some of the highest carbon footprints in NSW, averaging 32% higher than the rest of the state. Solar power has the potential to dramatically reduce these households' greenhouse gas emissions. The NSW government is offering 60 cents for every kilowatt-hour of energy produced by solar power systems installed on household roofs. This means it has never been easier or more cost effective to install solar. The Nature Conservative Council would like to see every roof in NSW fitted with a solar panel - it is a critical component of making NSW the clean energy state. That's why the Nature Conservation Council is launching the North Shore Solar Challenge in partnership with Ingenero.

Gecko - Gold Coast and Hinterland Environment Council

Gecko is the Gold Coast’s peak non-government not-for-profit environment group. Volunteers have been working to protect and enhance the natural environmental assets of this region since 1989, when representatives of six local conservation groups joined together. They envisioned the organisation working for the care, protection and conservation of the natural environment and the improvement of the built environment so that it would become more ecologically sustainable.

Ingenero Technology Partners

University of Queensland

In April 2009, Ingenero and the University of Queensland began a research partnership. As part of the partnership, the two bodies will work together on a number of solar energy projects including researching methods for optimal integration of large renewable energy sources within off-grid (for example diesel generator) stand-alone networks as well as within existing standard grid infrastructure. In addition, Ingenero and UQ are currently building the largest rooftop solar installation in Australia, due for completion in December 2010. Find out more here.

SMA

SMA Solar Technology AG develops, produces and sells solar inverters and monitoring systems for photovoltaic applications. SMA is the world’s largest producer in this segment and is the only vendor that has a product range with the matching inverter type for any module type and any power class. This applies for grid tied applications as well as island and backup operation. The inverter is technologically the most important component in any solar power system: it converts the direct current generated in photovoltaic cells into alternating current suitable for the grid. In addition, it is an intelligent system manager, responsible for yield monitoring and grid management. Solar inverters are characterized by a particularly high efficiency. The Sunny Mini Central produced by SMA already has an efficiency of over 98 %, which allows for increased electricity production.
