Ingenero wins $2.7m Fraser Coast Community Solar Farm project

Fraser Coast Community Solar Farm Sod TurningIngenero has been awarded the contract to design and build the Queensland Government funded Fraser Coast Community Solar Farm for Wide Bay Water Corporation at Hervey Bay.

The win marks a significant year for Ingenero, who has just completed Australia’s largest flat panel solar installation at the University of Queensland in Brisbane

The $2.7 million solar farm will generate approximately 630 megawatt hours of energy annually, enough to power approximately 100 homes, and will help offset the energy use of Wide Bay Water Corporation.

Ingenero will install an estimated 1,600 ground-mounted mono-crystalline panels over four hectares, totalling 401 kilowatts. However, the total energy capacity is expected to increase in the coming months.

Energy Minister Stephen Robertson and Fraser Coast Mayor Cr Mick Kruger attended the official sod turning ceremony with Ingenero’s General Manager of Generation, Rodger Whitby, this morning.

Construction is set to begin in November this year.
