Ingenero helps reno rescue the Salvos

In October 2010 Ingenero chipped in to help the Salvos by donating a new 1.5kw solar power system to the Salvation Army Centre in Hornsby.

In renovation rescue style, a team of volunteers from the nearby Wrigley factory left their day jobs, descended on the centre and worked on some major improvements.

While a solar installation team connected the Ingenero solar system on the roof, volunteers built a new barbeque and revamped the outdoor area below.

Hornsby Corps Officer, Lieutenant Carolyn O’Brien says it was incredible to see the whole project done so quickly.

“When Wrigley called and offered to spruce the place up I didn’t expect we’d get a new solar system too!

“Then Ingenero jumped on board and thanks to their donation we can save valuable dollars on our power bills which will be directed to more good works,” Carolyn said.

The Ingenero system will reduce the Salvos annual electricity bill by creating power that can be used immediately in the centre and export unused power back to the grid, attracting a government rebate.

Not only will the system save the Salvos money, it’ll help the environment too.
