Ingenero flood donation peaks at $80,700
After experiencing first-hand the scale of Brisbane's flood disaster, national renewable energy company Ingenero has donated $80,700 to the Premier’s Disaster Relief Appeal.
Ingenero is part of the community that was hard hit by the Brisbane floods, with head offices located in riverside suburb St Lucia and with 11 containers of solar equipment from its University of Queensland (UQ) solar project severely damaged by flood waters.
Ingenero CEO Steve McRae kicked donations off with a $5000 donation and the company then set aside a portion of solar sales for six months.
Mr McRae said the company was donating the cash because, “As a national firm based in Brisbane, the floods had a personal impact on many of Ingenero’s staff and their family members.
"As a company, we also experienced loss and setbacks at our UQ solar installation,”
Mr McRae said.
“During the flood crisis, Ingenero also offered a free service assessing damage to flood-affected solar panels.
"I would also like to thank all of Ingenero's customers whose ongoing commitment to installing solar has made this flood donation possible."
