Barcoo Shire Council

Through Power Purchase Agreements with Ingenero, Barcoo Shire Council has installed four world-class solar power systems on their facilities. Each has been designed, installed, maintained and is owned by Ingenero.

The council simply buys the energy generated from the system. Furthermore, by taking advantage of the Queensland Government’s net feed-in tariff, the council sells any excess power into the grid.

The new solar power installations feature 30kW at the Windorah Cultural Centre and 10kW at the Windorah Sport Centre. With the abundant supply of sunlight within the region, they will generate at least 178kW hours per day. At any point in time the council can understand the performance of their system by accessing, via the web, the performance data on Ingenero's EcoWatt Online Performance Monitoring.

This supply of renewable energy will save approximately 59.04 tonnes of CO2-E emissions per year.

With another 34kW at Jundah, Barcoo Shire Council now has more than 70kW of solar power being generated off their facilities.

TradeCoast Central

TradeCoast Central, a master-planned corporate office park and industrial community, is benefiting from solar energy produced on site, thanks to a Power Purchase Agreement with Ingenero.

A renewable energy facility fits with the philosophy of sustainable development ethos of the park, located on the old Brisbane Airport site.

Ingenero installed 4.2 kW of amorphous silicon panels. It will produce around 100,000 kWh of energy over the 15 year term of the agreement.

Queensland Solar Schools Project

Ingenero is one of the providers selected by the Queensland Government to install solar power systems on the roofs of Queensland schools. Systems range in size from 2, 4 and 6kW systems and will eventually be intsalled in over 1300 schools across the state.

The Queensland Department of Education and Training needed to partner with an organisation that has the ability to manage projects across a wide geographical footprint and a range of diverse installation environments.

Strong project management skills along with a strict adherance to workplace health and safety standards has seen Ingenero deliver the projects as required.

Woolworths

In December 2009, Ingenero was chosen by Woolworths Limited to install solar power systems on the roofs of two Woolworths service stations in the ACT. The installations are an example of a growing trend towards renewable energy by business and industry.

Solar installations of this kind are relatively new and are predicted to grow in popularity. The ACT is the first jurisdiction in Australia to provide a gross feed-in tariff from solar power systems that extends to businesses like Woolworths, encouraging the uptake of renewable energy in installations up to 30 kilowatts in size.

1,000 Solar Roofs Challenge

Early 2009, Ingenero teamed up with the Sunshine Coast Environmental Council (SCEC) for the 1,000 solar roofs project. The partnership reached the target prior to the Federal Government rebate being removed in June 2009.

As a result of the success of the program SCEC has recently launched a "10,000 Solar Roof Challenge". Click here for further information.
